1. Problem Description: mod_perl 2.0.4 will not compile on Fedora 9. cd "src/modules/perl" && make make[1]: Entering directory `/local/home/swload/webbuild/mod_perl-2.0/src/modules/perl' gcc -I/local/home/swload/webbuild/mod_perl-2.0/src/modules/perl -I/local/home/swload/webbuild/mod_perl-2.0/xs -I/local/home/apache/include -I/local/home/apache/include -I/local/home/apache/include -D_REENTRANT -D_GNU_SOURCE -DDEBUGGING -fno-strict-aliasing -pipe -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/include/gdbm -I/usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE -DMOD_PERL -DMP_COMPAT_1X -DLINUX=2 -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -O2 -g -pipe -Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -m32 -march=i386 -mtune=generic -fasynchronous-unwind-tables -fPIC \ -c modperl_xsinit.c && mv modperl_xsinit.o modperl_xsinit.lo modperl_xsinit.c: In function 'xs_init': modperl_xsinit.c:30: error: 'my_perl' undeclared (first use in this function) modperl_xsinit.c:30: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once modperl_xsinit.c:30: error: for each function it appears in.) modperl_xsinit.c:30: warning: passing argument 3 of 'Perl_newXS' from incompatible pointer type make[1]: *** [modperl_xsinit.lo] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/local/home/swload/webbuild/mod_perl-2.0/src/modules/perl' make: *** [modperl_lib] Error 2 To be honest, i don't think this is a mod_perl bug per se... it looks like a problem with some library not being installed on FC9 that mod_perl is expecting to find. However, mod_perl 2.0.4 compiles just fine on FC8. I originally tried 2.0.4 on FC9, then got the latest 2.0.5 SVN snapshot, hoping it would be resolved there. The biggest difference that I see between FC8 and FC9 is the latter's use of perl 5.10. 2.
