N800 touch screen stopped registering clicks

N800 touch screen stopped registering clicks

All of a sudden, my N800's touchscreen stopped registering
clicks. As far as I can tell, it's transmitting position
information but not clicks.

I have rebooted several times and pulled the battery for a
moment... no change.

Anyone have any ideas? It hasn't been dropped, and was working
well earlier in the day.

Have you recently added a screen protector, or has dirt or other debris become lodged between the screen and the bezel?

could you give a bit more explanation

is it just the click sound itself thats missing?

how are you able to tell that the touchscreen is registering position
information?

Not the first. I'll check on the second. You think it might be
constantly registering a click?

It's not the sound. I can drag things around, but not drop them
or click on anything.

I think that was it. I carefully slid a knife point around the
inside of the bezel, and although I didn't see any debris, the
clicking is now working again.
