Can I add a new input type in handwriting reconition?

Hello All!
I want to add a new input type in handwriting reconition.Does anybody know how to add it ?

Launch the Handwriting Recognition application. Then, from the "Input type" drop down list at the top, select the "Shortcuts" entry appropriate to your language. From there, you'll be able to enter patterns, and the resulting phrases, for sixteen different shortcuts.

Please elaborate. And maemo-developers [at] maemo might be more
appropriate as this sounds like coding.
