maemo-pan in Diablo

Is maemo-pan using the dummy network type in order to do its networking
stuff? I'm asking because the good old internet connectivity daemon has
been replaced with a new package, icd2, and that one does not contain
dummy network support by default.

Regards,

Patrik

Hi,

yes, maemo-pan is using the dummy network. I haven't tried maemo-pan
on Diablo yet, though.

Cheers,
Martin

There was workaround before with seting up fake ad-hoc connection. Maybe
it could be implemented with little tweaking (if current code depends
only on IAP name, not type)?

Oh, that setup most likely will still work, I hope.

The idea is to enable the dummy network feature for icd2 and have it
working as before, but unfortunately we discovered a minor bug in the
process. Once that gets resolved, I hope we'll have the same dummy
network functionality as before.

Cheers,

Patrik

Has there been any progress getting the "stock" maemo-pan fixed so that it
works out of the box as it were?

I want to upgrade my N800 to Diablo, but lack of PAN is a show-stopper for
me.
