I had this problem on an N800 and I *think* the problem went away after I reflashed it two or three times, but I've now stopped using the N800 so I really can't say for sure this fixed the problem as the pdflush issue can materialise after a few days of usage without any apparent problems.
Bug 2615[1] is tracking this issue with no input from Nokia/Maemo, naturally. :(
