Summit Accommodation

Hi all,

I noticed that the wiki page
(http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_Summit_2009/Accommodation) was pointing to the
Ibis Amsterdam West Hotel (or something like that) as the main hotel,
however Quim's post specified the Ibis Amsterdam Centre Hotel
(http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=315595&postcount=16). The wiki page
has been changed to reflect this.

I don't know how many people this might affect (the West is cheaper than the
Centre anyway, so it might not matter to people), but as they are the same
chain, it might be possible to talk to them and have them alter your
booking. But I really have no idea.

The Ibis Centre hotel seems to have gone up a lot. Cheapest I could find was
GBP 348.90 (about EUR 400) for the three nights (excl breakfast). The
ArtHotel did me a room for EUR310 for the three nights, excl breakfast
(booked through hotels.nl).

Ibis West is still cheap, although it is in the middle of nowhere (but so is
the ArtHotel, I think).

Not sure it has really gone up, Quim's rooms were something like 143 Euros
(inc breakfast) iirc. I booked for 4 nights for just over 500 Euros (no
breakfast), which is about the same cost.

Who knows :)

Ah. Something seems to have gone wrong with the editing of the wiki page
(http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_Summit_2009/Accommodation) then. That says that
the Ibis Centre is about EUR 65/night.

I've also added a new section "Who's staying where" section to the Summit
Accommodation page so people can work out where they want to stay and what
other people are paying.

Does anybody know whether "westcord Art Hotel Amsterdam" is the same
thing as "Golden Tulip Amsterdam Art" or not? They appear to have the
same street address (Spaarndammerdijk 304), but Google Maps shows them
300 meters apart and has different zip codes (1013 ZX versus 1069
Legemeer).

I booked mine through lastminute.com for GBP 369 (four nights, excluding
breakfast, including free wifi, excluding 5% city tax).

(Free wifi was the deciding factor for cancelling my prior Hotel Ibis
reservation. Lower price was just a bonus ;-)
