[lvs-users] Building monit from CVS

Hello,

I'm trying to build monit from CVS. So, following instructions for
http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/monit/monit/README.DEVELOPER?view=markup,
I have taken autoconf (v2.61), and type autoheader - autoconf -
./configure

When I enter ./configure, I can't continue, because of the following
errors (config.log) :

Thread model: posix
gcc version 4.2.3 (Debian 4.2.3-3)
configure:2067: $? = 0
configure:2074: gcc -V >&5
gcc: '-V' option must have argument
configure:2077: $? = 1
configure:2100: checking for C compiler default output file name
configure:2127: gcc conftest.c >&5
/usr/bin/ld: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
configure:2130: $? = 1
configure:2168: result:
configure: failed program was:

Did someone encounter this problem previously, and how did you correct it ?

You should install the libc6 development files:

apt-get install libc6-dev

Sebastian
PS1: ever heard of google? ;) I found your problem on the first results
page.
PS2: why on this list instead of monit's?

Sorry all. I didn't realize. I just send it to the wrong address.

Normally address to monit-general. So, please ignore this message

Ps : and actually, it's exactly what I was needed to correct my problem. Thx
