Basic genral information is needed.

Freinds,
I am familar with searh engine algoritms/concepts.
However, I am new to lucene.
My question: How long it takes to learn/control lucence and be able to build
around it a simple application?
I know it is different for each person, but a rough estiamte will be good
for me.
I am going to spend on lucene 20 hours per week.
One month sound reasonable?
