Does this approach will faster the wildcard query?

my original data
ID content
ID1 A1
ID2 A2
ID3 A3
ID4 A4
ID5 A5
ID6 A6
after I index, I split the content into different field, but keep the ID
field
ID content1 content2
ID1 A1 /
ID2 A2 /
ID3 A3 /
ID4 / A4
ID5 / A5
ID6 / A6

when I query content1=*QUERY* OR content2=*QUERY*
Does it work? and the speed will faster then I just store and query
content=%QUERY%?
Thanks!
