2 Server HA Setup

Hi List,

I want a scenario where I have two servers that appear as one server
(one IP) to the outside world, with both servers having *exactly* the
same data and services. So in case one server falls into a pond somehow,
I woun't even loose a ping from my clints. I've used debian linux alot
for my server backends, so I pretty much know my way around linux (not
GUI though).

Any help from the experts? Anyone?

Thanks,

Hi Jangita,                      you can configure linux HA cluster with pacemaker crm. I think it will best meet your requirement.Take a look at this link.

You will lose pings because it takes time to fail over to the other
server. Expect it to be longer than ping's timeout.

You will also lose stateful connections, e.g. servlet - applet, imap,
etc., unless your services know how to replicate state to the other server.
