Problem with gratuitous arps in IPaddr2
|
|
Hi, I encountered a problem with an ordinary IPaddr2 resource. In the logs I see: IPaddr2[9651]: ERROR: Could not send gratuitous arps With tcpdump I see, that the node sends out the arp requests, but does not answer it: arp who-has 188.92.128.250 (ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff) tell 188.92.128.250 With arping I tried to trace the problem a littel bit further and found the following: It seems that the kernel / driver does not answer arp request origination from an inferface of the server itself. arp requests from other hosts are answered. I checked the sysctl details, but nothing strange there. All parameters related to arp are set to "0" (default). I have seens this on different hardware and different kernel versions. Any idea what might be wrong? Thanks. -- Dr. Michael Schwartzkopff MultiNET Services GmbH Addresse: Bretonischer Ring 7; 85630 Grasbrunn; Germany Tel: +49 - 89 - 45 69 11 0 Fax: +49 - 89 - 45 69 11 21 mob: +49 - 174 - 343 28 75 mail: misch[at]multinet.de web: www.multinet.de Sitz der Gesellschaft: 85630 Grasbrunn Registergericht: Amtsgericht München HRB 114375 Geschäftsführer: Günter Jurgeneit, Hubert Martens --- PGP Fingerprint: F919 3919 FF12 ED5A 2801 DEA6 AA77 57A4 EDD8 979B Skype: misch42 _______________________________________________ Linux-HA mailing list Linux-HA[at]lists.linux-ha.org http://lists.linux-ha.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-ha See also: http://linux-ha.org/ReportingProblems
