Heart code

I've done a few slight updates, mostly adding detection of dead nodes.
the new version is alpha-0.2.1 but you don't have to bother downloading
if you have 0.2 - it doesn't add any new concepts. it'll be the last
version for today. :)

if you have compile troubles, please let me know and tell me what
system/distribution you're using. I'm running a suse 5.2 one over here.
can someone with a redhat, debian or slackware system please tell me
whether it compiles ok on those?

summary: it works ok so far, but I haven't yet tested it with more than
a few nodes. I only have four Linux systems available here, so I'll try
to get this code running on solaris tomorrow, which will allow me to
test it running on about a dozen nodes. if anyone has more, please tell
me your test results.

thanks. <sys/time.h> works well on suse as well, so I'll just change
that.
