Xen RA broken in SLES10SP2 or ?

Hi,

Sorry to make too much noise about the subject but I am desperate to fix
my HASI cluster.

My suspicion is that the Xen RA is broken. When a VM gets migrated to
another node in a 2 node cluster the migration is successful but for
some reason the VMs on the active node get stopped then re-started just
after the migration.

How come the line "ERROR: VM3: xm migrate to SERVER1 succeeded"???

I guess the RA returns something else other than "success" hence the
successful operation is considered "failed" which probably cause the
resources to be re-started(star/stop) on the active node.

BTW:today I downloaded some rpms from buildservice:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:ha-clustering:UNSTABLE/SLE_10

has the same Xen RA as my SLES10SP2. I wonder if SP2 was shipped with
unstable RA?

Could somebody please shed some light on this weird behaviour? My VMs
really need the live migration...

Thanks,
Ivan

Hi, did you fill a bug report?

Hi,

> Hi, did you fill a bug report?

Well I made a support call as suggested by Lars. According to my
understanding it's a SLES10SP2 related bug (perhaps I'm wrong), Lars and
Andrew already replied and confirmed that it's been addressed already in
the next refresh.

Thanks,
Ivan

ps: I'll have another one though around OCFS2 and blktap but I need to
get the refresh first...

I'm using the BS packages and i'm looking to let heartbeat manage my
domUs, hope this fix goes upstream.... Can you report backup once you
get the updates?.

Sure. You might not be affected then, what I am experiencing with the
one shipped with SP2 is not nice. I will report back as soon as I get
the refresh.
