I'm about to get digital cable. Is there any recommendation as to brand
or model? I'm running Kubuntu 7.10 with a Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE
currently but looking to add a second card for Digital Cable. Any
feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Tony

Depending on you cable company adding the digital package probably
will not give you any more channels that are usable without a set top
box. The reason for this is that most of the channels will be
encrypted (except the OTA channels the FTC will force them to have
unencrypted) because weather or not you get the digital package most
customers get the same feed (well except a few analog channels that
are filtered out). The set top box will decrypt only the channels your
package allows you to see. There are several ways to record these. You
could use your PRV150 and use an irblaster or possibly a serial cable
to get the set top box to change the channel. A second way is that
some set top boxes have a firewire port. And the third way is to get
an ATSC/QAM tuner although this will only record the unencrypted
channels.
