Hans, Thank-you very much for your response. Since my previous post I have upgraded from Xen 3.0.3 to the latest stable version 3.1.1 and this seems to have fixed the problem that I was having with the ivtv driver. That said, I'll be upgrading to a more recent v4l-db anyway.
