Small band of corruption at image base

Hi,
I'm successfully running a PVR-350, capturing from S-Video/Audio-in in PAL
at 720x576, but I consistently get a small (3%?) band of corruption at the
base of the screen.
I've tried setting the vbi mode to each of the five available options, but
to no avail.
I haven't included tech. details in the hope that I'm just being dim. Is
there anything simple I'm missing? If not, I'll post the gubbins.
