PVR-350 Was Working in MythTV, Now Isn't

PVR-350 Was Working in MythTV, Now Isn't

My PVR-350 was working fine with driver 0.3.8, recording and watching
live TV. Then I tried to add a second capture card (using saa7134.) I
gave up on the second card but now the PVR-350 stopped working in MythTV
-- all I get is a black screen.

I've upgraded to ivtv 0.4.0. The "cp /dev/video0 > file.mpg" test
works fine -- the card is receiving a signal on the tuner0 input.

Can *anyone* make *any* suggestions on what to do next?

Is there someway to 'reset' mythtv, short of a reinstall? I have removed
all the tuner cards in myth-setup and re-added the PVR-350 several times
with no success.

This largely excludes ivtv issues. In case you still suspect ivtv you
should please have a look at your logfiles for any errors reported by
the ivtv driver.

This question likely is more suited for the mythtv-users mailinglist
instead of ivtv. Alternatively, you could have a look at the output of
mythbackend (of the mythconverg databse for strange entries). In any
case include enough version and log information regarding mythtv.

Thanks for the reply Paul. I have no idea where the problem is and wanted to see if
ivtv could be the cause. I've made several postings to mythtv-users with no
responses. Guess I'll just keep at it until it works. :)

It's just frustrating that it *was* working...

I *know* I've had this problem, but can't remember what the solution
was for me. Have you upgraded / recompiled mythtv recently?

Recording too or just watching? If it's just watching then make sure
you didn't compile with DirectFB support on.

What output do you get from mythfrontend if you start it with
"mythfrontend -v all -l frontend.log" when you have the problem? What
about in the backend log?

Yeah, it's really not an ivtv issue at all then. Make sure you
remembered to associate the pvr-350 with a listings service in
mythtv-setup and run mythfilldatabase at least once afterwards.
