#0.3.2o final fixes to get VBI on pvr250, 350 and 150 to work stable

Ok, I've put my 250 back in my system, I had removed it, so now I have
fully tested and gotten VBI working on it, but also the event notification
to still be enabled to pvr150 cards aren't unstable.

Basically you can't turn on event notifications with just a VBI capture, it
breaks the itvc16 VBI and probably isn't healthy on the itvc15.

Please test and confirm all cards are working as were before the event
notification changes, and vbi on pvr250's.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: #0.3.2o final fixes to get VBI on pvr250, 350 and 150 to work stable [In reply to]

I've got no problems changing channels now on my 150 with 0.3.2o. The
only thing I noticed is that it's still reporting as version 0.3.2n.

Thanks Chris (and everyone else) for your great work.

Ross

Seems OK with the pvr-350, about 30 seconds worth of tv and changing
channels on tuner 1 of pvr-500mce before errors- so maybe an
improvement?

RE: #0.3.2o final fixes to get VBI on pvr250, 350 and 150 to work stable [In reply to]

Verision M. momentary stream freezes. Not system freezes. I can pause
and resume and it continues.

Version n. same

Explosions with o. Kernel panics 9 times out of 10 when I start or stop
a vid stream. Nastiness .. not cool. Enough?... ok, I'll continue.
There are no errors in the logs. I've never got around to rescuing my
console sessions so any errors on screen are unreadable. What there is
in the log is just normal initialization for the stream I think.

Sorry I don't have more info.

I'm not sure what would cause this, really not much changed between those
versions to cause such a change, actual behavior should be duplicated
of older versions unless your using VBI.

Thanks,
Chris

RE: #0.3.2o final fixes to get VBI on pvr250, 350 and 150 to work stable [In reply to]

I am not "using it" per say. But it might be configured in mythtv and
trying to function. When I first started setting this up (sept 04) I
was conversion with someone that relied on CC and I may have played with
settings to assist. I cannot remember. If I did, it not functioning
properly. I get no CC text.

I will check it in the morning to see if this is the case.

On a side note, I really need to check that safewrite routine in mythtv.
It isn't working right. When its recording and it runs out of disk
space it floods the logs with (safewrite blahblah out of disk space).
So I woke up this morning and my vid drive was at 100% , my cache drive
was at 100% and my root was at 99.5% (where log is) I killed mythbacked
just in time. Is it still true that when linux's root partition fills
up, it explodes permanently? Or have they made improvements on that
front since '96. Sorry bit off topic rambling here. Sorry to take your
time. Gnight.
