PVR-500mce D492

Finally got mine working. Well somewhat anyway. I can watch tv just fine
with mplayer, and also when using live-tv in myth. But for some reason,
when recording, mythbackend doesn't change the channel before it starts
recording. It just has the last channel that I had manually tuned to.

I'd post this to the myth list as a bug, but I have two other tuners in this
system that work just fine. It ONLY happens on my new PVR500mce tuners
running ivtv.

Any ideas?

BTW - the problem with my PVR500mce was easily solved by renaming my
tuner.ko and tveeprom.ko to tuner-ivtv.ko and tveeprom.ko and then adding
the following to my modprobe.conf.

alias char-major-81 videodev

alias char-major-81-0 ivtv

alias tveeprom tveeprom-ivtv

alias tuner tuner-ivtv

options cx25840 no_black_magic=1

I had tried this awhile back, but I must have forgotten to depmod after
making the changes. It works now, except for the issue above. Also - I was
able to verify that no_black_magic=1 is required. It bombs without it.

Thanks,

Matt

Rerun mythtvsetup and redo your cards and listing, I did the same thing :).
