500MCE static only from tuner

Sorry if this gets posted twice. I sent it this morning and haven't seen
it since...

The only thing new since the previous post is I was able to confirm I can
get an image from the composite input using "-p 2", and I tried the
following grid of configurations, all with no success:

tuner=57 NTSC no_black_magic=1 -p 7 -- no worky
tuner=57 NTSC no_black_magic=1 -p 6 -- no worky
tuner=57 NTSC -p 7 -- no worky
tuner=57 NTSC -p 6 -- no worky
tuner=47 NTSC no_black_magic=1 -p 7 -- no-worky
tuner=47 NTSC no_black_magic=1 -p 6 -- no-worky
tuner=47 NTSC -p 7 -- no worky
tuner=47 NTSC -p 6 -- no worky

I also peeked under the sticker of one of the tuner modules, and confirmed
I have an F91238A/R H-4. The Hauppauge sticker is labeled NTSC/NTSC-J
23552 Rev D492.

-- original message --
Hello,

I just received a couple of 500MCE cards that have been backordered quite
a while, and am starting trying to get one to work. I've read as much of
the relevant info on the mailing list as I could find, but don't seem to
find a resolution.

I am getting static on the tuner, both in Myth and by copying from
/dev/video0 and playing in VLC.

I created the file with the following:

./ivtvctl -d /dev/video0 -f width=720,height=480 -c stream_type=0 -u
0x3000 -r 3188 -p 7

cp /dev/video0 > my.mpeg

I also tried the values 0 through 6 for the -p option. 6 and 7 had static,
0-5 had blocky green output.

I had started with the firmware in pvr48wdm_1.8.22037.exe, and ended with
the firmware on the CD, renamed to ivtv-fw-enc.bin, without effect.

mcarland[at]gamer:~$ uname -r

Here is the output for the card from lspci -v

Those IRQs are also used by my soundcard (EMU10K1 IRQ 5) and usb
controller (ALi OHCI IRQ 10). Could that be the problem?

I had had an old Hauppauge card in this machine that had been working. I
made sure that all the old drivers are removed, and had rebooted. I have
only tried one of the cards, I'm not sure if I want to return one of them.
One had been back ordered for four weeks when I ordered the second,
planning to cancel one when the other shipped, but two weeks later they
both shipped from different vendors within hours of each other.

Any suggestions on why this isn't working?

Thanks,

-Michael
