Re: [XDRIVER] v0.8 pre-compiled driver [In reply to]

Hi,

I want to try the v0.8 Xorg driver, but I get Xorg not configurated.
I followed the description below.
http://www.schaefer.dhcp.biz/pvr350tvout.htm

This is a snap from the Xorg.1.log

(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/ivtvdev_drv.o
(II) Module ivtv: vendor="The XFree86 Project"
compiled for 4.3.0, module version = 0.8.0
ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.6
(II) IVTVDEV: driver for framebuffer: PVR-350
(II) Primary Device is: PCI 01:00:0
(--) Chipset PVR-350 found
(EE) ivtvHWProvbe failed to do IVTVFB_IOCTL_GET_STATE for device (null)
(EE) Screen 0 deleted because of no matching config section.
(II) UnloadModule: "ivtvdev"
(EE) Device(s) detected, but none match those in the config file.

What can I do to solve the problem?

Beste regards
TheNop

Post your xorg.conf and the xorg log file & I'll take a look.

Hi John,

here are the files, you ask for.
I have ivtv 0.2.0-rc1a installed. Is that the correct one?

Hi John,

Please could you just confirm whether you have had v0.8 of your driver working with /dev/fb1 ?

Anyway, many thanks for the work you've done on this.

regards,
oliver.

I've been using version 0.8 with /dev/fb1 - seems to work great (I
still get the infamous "ivtv: OSD: DMA xfer from 0xf6e01008 of 851968
bytes failed with (-512)..." messages, but they seem to be harmless)
using ivtv 0.3.2a.

Regards,
Tim

RE: [XDRIVER] v0.8 pre-compiled driver [In reply to]

I don't have one but I just renamed my /dev/fb0 to /dev/fb1. V0.7 failed to
start and 0.8 worked with just an
option fbdev "/dev/fb1"

Those messages are harmless ( see my post a few weeks ago) and have been
removed from the latest driver.
