how to change background color of menu?

Hello,

Can someone possibly point me in the right direction. I am working on an
interchange site running 5.7.. and I am simply trying to change the left and
top menu bar nav background color. If I view source, it looks like it's
being set inline on a td on each page. Where can this be edited? Admin
side or in the source files?

I believe it is in the THEME_CSS file in the variables folder.

You can also make some customizations in

catroot/include/layout/
leftonly
leftright
noleft
