Paypal module question

Hi - I'm looking at trying the Paypal Express module on my sites. I'm
not real clear on the "have Paypal co-operate with your normal payment
service provider" thing. Is this a feature that works only with certain
providers? I use Skipjack and am trying to find out if it can work
before I go through the effort of setting it all up. Can anyone provide
info?

Your checkout process (pages, catalog settings) has to be support both
payment methods, which isn't supported out of the (standard) box.

Hi - I understand that... I'm just wondering if it is possible to use
the Paypal module along with my "normal" processor Skipjack. Knowing
that it can/can't work before making the required changes to my catalog
is my goal. Just wondering if anyone knows.

It works well with Authorize.net, so I don't see why it wouldn't.
The installation instructions in the perl module detail how to set it up
with your current processor.

The paypal checkout process should be completely separate from your
normal checkout routine and therefore should not interfere one way or
the other regardless of what your normal gateway supports. In other
words it will work fine.

The following statement which I found while reading the module's
"quickstart" is what caused my confusion:

"To have Paypal co-operate with your normal payment service provider, eg
Authorizenet, do the following:..."

I'm having trouble understanding exactly what this "co-operation"
specifically involves. I guess I'll just have to try it and see what
happens.

IC has always been designed to work with only one PSP, and this is normally
declared in the MV_PAYMENT_MODE variable. To allow more than one PSP to work
you need to make the alterations described in the documentation. It doesn't
matter whether your normal PSP is Skipjack or anything else, as using the
method described will let you run 3 or 4 payment providers if you want.

This is just not true. In fact, the reason that it is so easy to use
different payment providers is that I specifically designed payment
routes to allow many means of payment.

The "standard" demo is sort of constrained, but it is the work of moments
to add another payment route to allow a second payment processor.
