Weekly IRC Meeting today / tomorrow

On Tuesday, September 1st, the next Interchange meeting is scheduled to
take place on #interchange IRC channel at chat.freenode.net.

Among the main topics we expect to discuss are:

* Progress update since last meeting
* Roadmap for Interchange / WellWell / icdevgroup.org website
* Clear responsibilities of team members (releases, security,
promotions, etc.)

All Interchange users and the general public are invited.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 1st, or Wednesday,
September 2nd, depending on your time zone. Please check this site for
the meeting time in your area.

If you don't already have an IRC client set up, you can use the Freenode
web IRC client (after login use the white line on the bottom for typing
your messages).

We look forward to seeing you on #interchange!

Regarding the question about PaypalExpress.pm , I have been using Lyn's
version 1.04 since June, and it is working very well.

The last version of PaypalExpress (1.0.5) fixed a problem with Canadian
province names - basically Paypal will send variants that were previously
unexpected and this takes care of the variants. In the near future I'm going
to have to add in recurring/subscription billing (and Giropay) but I'm happy
for this version to go in the distro for now.

Having just read the meeting log, I should add that the Sagepay module is
pretty well fixed, unless they make a major change to the API, so I'm happy for
that to go in.

The GoogleCheckout module really should have an update for dynamic tax and
shipping calcs, but as Google have abandoned it and punters don't seem that
keen on using it I can't see this work racing up the TODO list any time soon.
But put it in anyway.

Some time in the near future I should have both Moneybookers and Chronopay to
give you as well (and maybe one or two others).

Cheers
Lyn

Yes, that's right... I am using (1.0.5) the version with the Canadian
province name corrections, haven't had any Paypal Canadian issues since this
patch.

Could you elaborate on what it is that Google abandoned? Thanks for
your work with all this stuff.

If you go to http://code.google.com and look for GCO you will not find it where
it used to prominently kept. It's now listed under their other stuff which they
only put limited resources into. I haven't been to their developer's forum for
months, but it was continually full of complaints about bugs and deficiencies,
and about the poor or non-existent responses and fixes. All in all, it's plain
that allocated resources are now approaching zero.
