sending to multiple users

The problem: If I try to send a clearsign-ed messages to more than one
person, gpg complains of not being able to find a file named after second
recipient

Background: OS: Linux (RH 5.2, kernel 2.2.10)
MUA: Pine 4.04
GPG: gpg50i
I have been able to send signed, encrypted, and clearsigned messages to
single recipients. I have pored through the README and the manpages, as
well as cross-referenced against a .pinerc file which was configured for
an older version of PGP (2.6.2, I believe)

Personally, I suspect a configuration error rather than a bug. Anyone
able to give me a lead/pointer/example?

I don't see yor problem: A signed file has nothing to do with the
recipients - you sign it and send the same signed message to all
recipients.

It would help to have your options file and the commandline.
