autogen.sh failure in libgcrypt

After
[mmutz [at] dirichle libgcrypt]$ ./autogen.sh
Running libtoolize... Ignore non-fatal messages.
You should update your `aclocal.m4' by running aclocal.

libtoolize: `config.sub' exists: use `--force' to overwrite
libtoolize: `ltmain.sh' exists: use `--force' to overwrite

autoheader: config.h.in is unchanged
Running automake --gnu ...
configure.ac: 1389: required file `scripts/ltmain.sh' not found
automake: configure.ac: required file `scripts/depcomp' not found
doc/Makefile.am:5: required file `scripts/mdate-sh' not found
doc/Makefile.am:5: required file `scripts/texinfo.tex' not found
Running autoconf...
You can now run "./configure" and then "make".

make naturally fails due to missing depcomp.

am 1.4, ac 2.52, no problems in other modules, though no other modules uses a
scripts/ subdir...

Use automake 1.5 (and libtool 1.4.2a)

The best choice is to run Sid on your box ;-)

Arrgh, sorry. It _is_ am 1.5, libtool 1.4:
$ automake --version
automake (GNU automake) 1.5
<snip>
$ libtool --version
ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.4 (1.920 2001/04/24 23:26:18)
