small idea for nice message digest feature
|
|
Hello, was just playing with GnuPG/GnuPP under Windows when I had a little idea, maybe it could be considered in future releases of GPA ? Under Linux it's easy to get a message digest e.g. with md5sum or a SHA1 digest with gpg --print-md sha1 verycool.bin So GnuPG can very well be used to get a MD5/SHA1/RIPEMD160 digest, under Windows there's usually no tool that can do that job, but.... the win32 GnuPG version of course can do that under Windows. So it may be useful if the GPA / Windows version of GPA can make use of the GnuPG message digest functions, so in the future Windows users might be able to check authenticity of software with messages digests usnig GnuPG/GPA and for Linux newbies it would be easier with GPA than using the command line. ...just an idea regards Malte
