Need for kernel-2.4.xx in 2007.1 profile?
|
|
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 All, With the 2007.1 profile, we would like to drop support for the kernel-2.4.xx series. As far as we can tell, we do not think it is required for anything anymore. Please note that already with the 2007.0 profile, there is no profile for the 2.4 kernel, so if you want it now, you must be using 2006.1/2.4 (or, I suppose, 2006.0/2.4). This does not mean the the sparc-sources-2.4.34 ebuild would instantly disappear, but it does mean that we would not work to keep sparc-sources current. Note that this is effectively the current status anyway; nothing has changed with sparc-sources since last January, so effectively all kernel-2.4 work has stopped. If this causes problems, please let us know now.
