Hi, Under both the 2.6.9 and 2.6.10 series I am getting kernel oops when playing sounds. It seems that the problem occurs when sounds are played simultaneously but I am not quite sure. Everything is peachy with 2.6.8 kernels and below. The oops look like this: Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: Oops: kernel access of bad area, sig: 11 [#1] Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: NIP: E2098D44 LR: E2099658 SP: D6A81DB0 REGS: d6a81d00 TRAP: 0300 Not tainted Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: MSR: 00009032 EE: 1 PR: 0 FP: 0 ME: 1 IR/DR: 11 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: DAR: E209F0BC, DSISR: 40000000 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: TASK = dfbda730[8623] 'xemacs' THREAD: d6a80000Last syscall: 4 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: GPR00: 000007FC D6A81DB0 DFBDA730 DB051F20 DB975E20 DB975D40 00000200 00000B03 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: GPR08: 00000001 E209E8C0 000007FC E209E900 DF563464 101B5EC8 00000000 101B0000 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: GPR16: 1090924C DB975E20 DB975D40 101B0000 7FFFAAB0 00000006 101B0000 00000000 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: GPR24: 00000000 DF563CC0 DB975E20 E2098CFC DB975E20 DB051F90 DB051F20 00000B03 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: NIP [e2098d44] resample_expand+0x48/0x3a8 [snd_pcm_oss] Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: LR [e2099658] rate_transfer+0x7c/0x98 [snd_pcm_oss] Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: Call trace: Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: [e2099658] rate_transfer+0x7c/0x98 [snd_pcm_oss] Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: [e2096038] snd_pcm_plug_write_transfer+0x1cc/0x2a0 [snd_pcm_oss] Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: [e2091518] snd_pcm_oss_write2+0xb4/0x12c [snd_pcm_oss] Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: [e2093ca0] snd_pcm_oss_write+0x220/0x26c [snd_pcm_oss] Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: [c0058c78] vfs_write+0x140/0x16c Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: [c0058d80] sys_write+0x4c/0x90 Oct 27 13:10:36 localhost kernel: [c00067e0] ret_from_syscall+0x0/0x44 I have seen a couple of posts signalling similar issues (http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2004/11/msg00644.html and http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2004/12/msg00072.html) but I cannot seem to find a solution.
