IBook G4 powers off after a while with lid closed

Hi,
when I close the lid of my ibook G4 it powers off (no shutdown!) after
a while when I'm on battery... this happens even when neither pmud nor
pbbuttonsd are running
when i'm on ac nothing happens

Does anybody have ideas?

Bye

All my iBook problems were solved when moving to kernel 2.6.8

I have the same problem, but it happens when the lid is open, too.
May be a specific ibook G4 problem, I think.

I'm using 2.6.7-gentoo-r14.

Bye

Well for me it only happens after the lid is closed... with lid open
it runs until the battery is empty...
I've stopped the time and the power off happened after almost exactly
5 minutes...

I found something on the debian mailing lists... not really
promising... but it seems as we're not alone ;)

Re: Configuring X for Ti PowerBook [In reply to]

I resolved my yaboot problem, thanks :)

Now I am trying to configure X. The Xeasyconfig doesn't work.

Does anyone have a working Xconfig file for a Ti PowerBook (2001?) with
an ATI Rage 128 video card? that they could share?

TIA

About a year ago I had Debian running on it (2.4-benh kernel), but I
didn't think to save the config file before I tried to upgrade my OSX
partition to Panther. OSX blew away all my partitions and files so it
could start on a clean drive :(

Now, I'm just running Gentoo -- make that trying to run Gentoo <LOL>
