ranlib problems still not fixed?

I get the following message when compiling ledit:
ld: table of contents for archive: /usr/lib/ocaml/libunix.a is out of
date; rerun ranlib(1) (can't load from it)
Similar problems exist with programs that want to link libruby-static.a;
according to bugzilla this should be fixed long ago.
