Is 'chroot /var/tmp/catalyst/tmp/gnap/stage3-x86-arcturus09c' required ? GNAP is quite outdated. It still working but is nto ready for newer versions. So if you want is not hard to modify it and adapt it to newer versions of portage, but maybe you will find problems with catalyst.
