linux-2.6.30-gentoo-r4 won't boot

I am having trouble getting linux-2.6.30-gentoo-r4 to boot on an
Asus K8V Deluxe. It starts the boot process and then spits out a
bunch of similar lines which I did not write down and don't find
their way into any logs. It then halts. I have tried starting with
my previous config file and starting from scratch with similar results.
The processor is an Atholon 64 3200. Does anyone have a config file that
has worked on this board with this kernel? Does anyone know of the
offending setting?

Thanks,
Scott

For an a8v deluxe:
http://pastebin.ca/1553335

you probably lost your hard drive controller drivers in the upgrade.
libata drivers are now preferred for all drive types.
ext2fs is no longer configured by default.

does the livecd boot up okay ?

if so take the .config from this in the kernel build for your own new
kernel, if the livecd kernel still exists in portage and all else
fails use this same version as the livecd

USE="symlink" emerge --ask sys-kernel/gentoo-sources
zcat /proc/config.gz /usr/src/linux/.config
genkernel --oldconfig all

add kernel to grub, reboot

btw i have a few bugs for this kernel version, so check bugs.g.o

to gentoo infra, can it be added so the livecd can install the livecd
kernel on new installs without head attach ? :)

and after reboot users can build a more optimized kernel, and still
have the livecd kernel as a failback if anything goes wrong ?
