this is also a good tool to weed out some spam.
suppose the zombie machine drops identd, it will have to wait
until it times out. not a lot of ratware wait that long (20 sec here).

Use a bespoke delay if/as/when appropriate. ELSE NOT.

No need to penalize *all* connections...
