The LMTP transport is largely redundant. It lacks most of the features of the
SMTP transport, including logging, for example!
The one feature it has that's missing from the SMTP transport is support for
delivery to a unix socket. If the SMTP transport were enhanced such that it
could deliver to a unix socket, the LMTP transport could be deprecated.
