Depends on the kind of failure. If exim itself crashes, there is no
cleanup. If a scanner crashes or is unresponsive, it depends on the
scanner that is used (each scanner gets his own treatment).
I think the bug entry is fair; I need to fix the cleanup problem at
least in the way how Philip did it for local_scan in the early version 4
series.
I'll be off for another week and the I'll look after my Exim duties again.
