OK, so far nothing specially difficult for drbd.

Is this the only drbd volume? That behaviour was seen only when really
stressing two crossed volumes on both machines at the same time.
If this is the only volume, and the only machine writing anything is the
primary (as it should be), then this really should not be happening. Look
at the system logs for kernel messages involving the realtek boards, these
have been reported recently as failing unexpectedly under heavy load.

Hmmm and could you ping through the crossover cable? If not, then the realtek
boards are guilty. When this happens, please check with netstat and pstree if
the drbd processes are still running, and if the port is still busy.

OK, it could also mean the realtek boards are fine after reset.

Hmmm... those were not observed in testing, and should not happen. Anyway,
please send us a "ps aux" and "netstat -tua" output when such thing happens.
Oh, also send any kernel messages you find interesting, like those from the
realtek boards, the drbd config file, and the version of drbd you are using.

It has not happened here, but we have been seeing a lot of bad realtek
100Mbps boards failing under heavy load.
