More strange behaveior

More strange behaveior

Did you compiled dbmail with an old mysql-dev then the binary you're running?

I didn't compile dbmail myself. It's from the Fedora 8 distri.

Once i had similar problems but i was running mysql version X, and had installed mysql-dev version Y.

So, do you think a recompile of dbmail and linking against my current
mysql installation might be helpful?

if you report problems, please describe you setup: os, cpu,
mysql/postgres versions, dbmail version, etc.

In this case 'fedora 8 install' doesn't tell me anything since I don't
use fedora.

I think I can close out the network, because it is a local host
connection. So, MySQL and dbmail runs on the same host.

A quick lookup reveaved that this exact message means: Connection reset
by peer; the mysql-server in this case.

That's too easy. There is a problem. And it's in your mysql setup.
Something is causing those mysql connection errors.

Also, the hostname in your logs suggests you are running on a vmware
image. That is /relevant/ information. Especially if dbmail is not in
the same image as mysql.

leads connect_timeout as a possible cullprit. Increase that value to
something significantly larger, like 60.
