Sieve vacation and extra size subject's

Hi Paul,

I just noticed something, that even that it's not completely correct (the
size of), when I send an email to a user that has a sieve vacation with an
huge size on the subject, it fails, the reply doesn't happen.

This is something that we use almost once a year and never noticed this.

I'm not on any last version so may I ask you if you can test this in last
GIT you're running.

If I change the header:

Subject:
http://www.tabonito.pt/diferenca-do-que-tu-falas-e-realmente-pensas-quando-t
e-encontras-com-alguem-do-teu-tempo-de-escola/?fb_action_ids=102008961971454

<http://www.tabonito.pt/diferenca-do-que-tu-falas-e-realmente-pensas-quando-
te-encontras-com-alguem-do-teu-tempo-de-escola/?fb_action_ids=10200896197145
486%2C10200896191585347%2C10200885123588654%2C10200885100988089&fb_action_ty
pes=og.likes&fb_source=other> &fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other

To something smaller like:

Subject:
http://www.tabonito.pt/diferenca-do-que-tu-falas-e-realmente-pensas-q

The original full subject line that I sent was the below one:

http://www.tabonito.pt/diferenca-do-que-tu-falas-e-realmente-pensas-quando-t
e-encontras-com-alguem-do-teu-tempo-de-escola/?fb_action_ids=102008961971454
86%2C10200896191585347%2C10200885123588654%2C10200885100988089&fb_action_typ
es=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map={%221020089619714548
6%22%3A389043544528943%2C%2210200896191585347%22%3A202302366603775%2C%221020

191585347%22%3A%22og.likes%22%2C%2210200885123588654%22%3A%22og.likes%22%2C%
2210200885100988089%22%3A%22og.likes%22}&action_ref_map=[]

The sieve vacation reply will work.

I know the subject shouldn't have such long line, the limit is I think 250
chars right?

But you could make the auto-reply work anyway doing a trunk in the subject
instead of failing.

Raw message attached.

The sieve script it's this one:

require ["vacation"];

# rule:[aaaaaaaa]

if true

{

vacation :days 1 :addresses "trash [at] domain" "reply message
to the user";

}
Attachments: msglongsubject.txt (4.85 KB)

Afaict, this happens all in libsieve, not in dbmail itself.

Reading the libsieve source I would expect the subject to be truncated
at 128 bytes. If it doesn't do that, either I don't understand the
libsieve source correctly, or there's a bug in there.

Jorge,

I've tested this with libsieve 2.2.9 and it works as expected: subject
is truncated.

Please test this yourself with SIEVE_DEBUG=yes in dbmail.conf

Isn't the limit for the subject 250 chars? Just curious,

Just did, and now it works, grrrrr
Oh well, I'll note this to test when I upgrade to 3.1.2 or 3.2x
