Hello

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I. -g -O2 -I/usr/include/glib-2.0

-I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include -W -Wall -Wpointer-arith
-Wstrict-prototypes -MT misc.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/misc.Tpo -c misc.c -fPIC
-DPIC -o .libs/misc.o
misc.c: In function `g_tree_merge':
misc.c:1342: error: wrong type argument to unary exclamation mark
make[2]: *** [misc.lo] Error 1

I got the same error, but upgrade to glib-2.8 means the whole system upgrade
:-(

Seriously? I think sticking with glib-2.6 is better, as it's far more
readily available in distributions. Is there some significantly better
functionality that you *really* need?

Not really. But I use 2.8 myself since my main devel machine is
debian/sid. I'll fix the current code to work for 2.6.

rev 1918 works just fine with glib2.6
