How do you deal with shared calendars and invitations in lightning?
|
|
Hi list! I'm know this is not the exactly right place to ask, as this is more a lightning question as a davical one but I'm sure there must be some experience about this among here, and anyway I found this place much more helpful in the past than any other source. Question: How do you deal with shared calendars and invitations in lightning? Whenever somebody sends an invitation out of a global calendar, other users receive those invitations just fine but, having access to the same calendar (after all its a global one), can't either deny nor accept it, as lightning finds the regarding appointment (by its uid presumably) already being present in one of the users calendars (the global one) and so treats the event as already being dealt with! That's just annoying. I have a global calendar. I'm creating a new appointment, say that I need the meeting room next Tuesday and of course I want to inform other members of my team about it. So I invite them over their personal email addresses. So far so good. But WHY is lightning checking ALL subscribed calendars for the event being present instead of just those connected to the email address the event was sent to? The way this is being handled by me at the moment is so cumbersome, I really can't believe this the only way to do it. Now I have to tell my users to create the according event in their private calendar instead, invite everybody but the global calendar and then copy the event manually into the global calendar. And the same thing all over again in case the details of the event are changed. Having a shared calendar that people use to organize meetings can't be that extraordinary of an scenario and THIS is just way too complicated. So, what am I missing? Are their any permission bits I can set on the server side to avoid this behaviour? Thanks a million. Paul ps-any news on the davical website/wiki? is there a way to help out?
