Lightning not sending notifications out

Lightning not sending notifications out

Hi all,

We recently moved to Thunderbird 14 and Lightning 1.6 and we have
noticed that the notifications in Lightning are no longer being sent out.

From debugging Lightning I see the following message when inviting
attendees on an event:

CalDAV: recv: Exception [0] Dodgy looking namespace from
'CALDAV:schedule-send-freebusy'!
At line 188 of /opt/awl-0.52/inc/XMLDocument.php

caldav.php[114] include()
caldav-POST.php[154] handle_freebusy_request()
caldav-POST.php[30] CalDAVRequest->NeedPrivilege()
CalDAVRequest.php[1204] XMLDocument->NSElement()

Followed by:

CalDAV: Received status 500 from freebusy query for Fred

The principal privileges do not have free/busy ticked in DAViCal and it
worked with older versions of Thunderbird and Lightning. Without the
free/busy privileges I expected it to ask to send out a notification
email but it does not and the 'invite attendees' checkbox is greyed out
- always a sign to me in the past that it will not send out an email.

I'm wondering if the message gives a clue as to why no notifications are
being sent and I'm wondering how to get this working again.

Thanks for the reply.

I have added $c->enable_auto_schedule = false but I had thought that by
default it was already false, and that you have to add it to turn it on?

I've updated our awl to 0.53. I have not updated davical, its currently
v1.1.0. I'm still getting the issue so is that down to not having
davical 1.1.1?

Hi,

I'm still trying to figure out why Lightning does not send out emails to
attendees when creating events on our DAViCal calendars.

Adding: $c->enable_auto_schedule = false; just seems to do is untick the
Notify Attendees (and therefore no email is sent). In either case
Notify Attendees is greyed out.

Well, this does ring a bell. Did you select an email address for the
calendar?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I have two calendars, tim and fred.

In Lightning on the tim calendar I can select the email address to use
in its properties, but I cannot do this for fred. The list of email
addresses it gives me are only for my accounts set up in thunderbird,
i.e. only my tim account. It will not allow me to select or enter freds
email address.

If you are inviting people to an event in Tim's calendar then what
counts is that this calendar has an email address configured.

But why do you have Fred's calendar configured in your Thunderbird
profile? Is this part of your test scenario?

Hi,

I need to see Fred's calendar which is why it is configured in my
Thunderbird.

I've double checked and the users in DAViCal have correct email addresses.

Hi there

I do have the same problem for a long time.

In DAViCal, all "calendars" do have correct email addresses. For ease
of planning, we share all calendars always.

Neither for local users, i.e. my wife and my children, nor for
non-locals, for example users with calendars at their company, Lightning
is able to send invitations. It works if I make use of a computer-local
calendar.

Anybody any recommendation on that?
