Help required with DaviCal + Thunderbird addressbook + Android sync

Hi,

if it doesn't sync then the required patch is obviously not included in
the nightly build. I've written some lines in my wiki about that. The
article has a link to the patched file that you have to put in your
Thunderbird profile:
http://dmfs.org/wiki/index.php?title=Thunderbird_with_SOGo_Connector
I don't know if this file will work with the latest nightly build, it
works with 3.105.

cheers

Marten

But don't try to update to TB 5.0. Then it doesn't work even with a
patched connector, at least not for me.

Sogo is a bit of a dirty hack. At least on my linux and osx installations. It (mostly) syncs the addressbook, but therefore breaks calendar access. I can see events in lightning, but not edit any. Once sogo is uninstalled, the calendar is back to normal.
I have given up on Thunderbird quite some time ago. Ubuntu up to 11.04 ships Thunderbird 3. For a good reason it would seem, as since 3.0 only moderate bugfixes have been done. I was hoping for some movement in terms of carddav for TB5 - still nothing. Basic things like email archiving are a big pain - still.

Cheers,
Ingo

I'v also not had any luck using Sogo. Contacts sort of workish, but it doesn't seem to
work well with other clients and creates non-standard vcards in some cases that
break on other clients.. Contacts added by other clients never seem to show up in
thunderbird with Sogo.. So basically only seems an effective solution if you only
use thunderbird with Sogo to update the contacts..

Hoping that they will add proper CardDav support to thunderbird some day soon..
