IPhone iOS 4.3.3 CardDav

Hi,

You need a rewrite rule for apache. Carddav on iphone can only operates on root and ignores paths.
I am not on the computer right now, but I am sure there's documentation on the wiki for that.

Cheers,
Ingo

IPhone iOS 4.3.3 CardDav [In reply to]

Hello,

I'm trying to get CardDav to work on my iphone.
When I enter i.e. "127.0.0.1/caldav.php/steve/contacts", in the CardDav
setup screen, it get's reduced to "127.0.0.1" and when the iphone tries
to login it fails.

Probably because "/caldav.php/steve/contacts" gets ignored.

How do I add CardDav to the Iphone?
Is there some kind of trick?

Best regards
Steve

Are you actually using 127.0.0.1..? Because that won't work unless you
have some how managed to install davical and a webserver on your iphone..

The iphone can find your contacts without any tricks, the fact that it chopped
off the stuff on the end should be okay, I think it actually does save the full
path but then doesn't display it for some reason..

For carddav you shouldn't need the full path either, just http://web.server/caldav.php/
should be enough for it to find your contacts based on the username you enter.

I have a number of iphones with various ios versions using carddav with davical
without any tricks or hacks to get them working. There IS a problem with very
large contact lists, but that's a separate issue...
