Need Help

Hello All,

Not sure if I am doing this correctly but here goes!

I downloaded and installed the lasted ClamAv.msi file from the site and
installed it on a Microsoft Windows 2003 Server. I am trying to get it to
work with my e-mail software to scan all e-mail coming and going for
viruses. My mail program is called MailMax 5.5 developed by
www.Smartmax.com. In the settings of the program it has a command line to
run external anti-virus software but for the life of me I can't seem to get
it to work. Here is my command line that I am trying to us:

C:\Program Files\clamAV\clamscan.exe --database="C:\Program
Files\clamAV\data" --tempdir="C:\clamtemp" --log="C:\Program
Files\clamAV\log\MailMaxLOG.txt" -r --unzip="C:\Program
Files\WinAce\winace.exe" --move="C:\clamtemp"

When I try this in a dos prompt in the directory of Clamav I get can't write
to the temporary directory error. I put everyone permissions on the temp
directory with full permissions to write. I am also using Winace as my
uncompressing software. You can find them at winace.com.

It doesn't appear to be working because there is no file or directory
specified to scan search. Problem is I don't know how to do that because the
e-mail comes in as numeric values and is different every time example file
name could be EM000000-000002A3.msg or EM000000-000452A3.msg. The extension
of the e-mail is .msg but that's all I know. One anti-virus software that
does work with the mail system is (Avast) AVGScan and there example command
line for the anti-virus is: c:\av\avgscan.exe /clean /scan %d but I rather
use Clam not sure if that will help you either.

How can I get ClamAv to run a command line on files that are passed through
MailMax any help much appreciated?

Thank you,

Frank

Re: Need Help [In reply to]

I think you might have more luck if you add %d to the end of your command
line.
