R: engine outdated error

I'm sorry I dont understand what you mean when you ask for 0.96.4-1 version.
Isn't it there?

ii libclamunrar6 0.96.4-1 anti-virus utility for Unix - unrar support

not 0.96.4-1 here ?

maybe using --purge is also needed ?

Stefano,

What program is generating those warning messages? Can you send me verbose
debugging logfiles? (clamscan --debug --verbose /etc/passwd)

are you facing the proble of disabled libunrar in 0.97.8 ?, its seems
it was last in 0.96.4-1 here ?

google thread of libunrar clamav free rar unrar, the thread was that
some maintainers say its same license and thus unrar is not free ?, but
libunrar source can be googled, hmm

tell maintainers of the precompiled problems to make a fix

clamav works on gentoo

When they say "free," they mean "free software" (per the GNU definition):

The problem with libunrar isn't the cost, but the license.

Yeah, unfortunately my friends, we've beat the unrar drum with a stick a
lot, and recently. No sense in debating it I guess.
