clamd taking 100% CPU utilization

Dear List

I am using clamd --version ClamAV 0.90.3/6996/Wed Apr 30 16:00:40 2008 on
qmail server with qmail-scanner without qms-analog.

My problem is that clamd using 100% CPU utilization on the server having
following configuration.

Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz
2 GB Memory

Fedora Core 5 with 2.6.15-1.2054_FC5smp kernel

Also want
to want to upgrade clamd but unable to find its rpm for FC5. I have
tries lates version on test server using tar.gz but its not working
properly with existing version of qmail-scanner.

Please suggest me what should i do to resolve this issue.

Regards,

Shahzad Abid

Sound advice. I had the same problem. An upgrade fixed it.

Your best bet will be to build it from sources. To enable email
filtering you will need to run ./configure with the --enable-milter
option. You may also have to download libmilter which is included with
Sendmail.
