why does libclamav need libltdl ?

why does libclamav need libltdl ?

I'm building clamav on one system, then copying the libraries to my
production system. This has worked fine right up until libclamav.6,
which requires libltdl.so.7 - my production system has only got
libltdl.so.3.1.6 - is there any way of getting rid of that requirement?

I think I get to answer that one myself: "--with-included-ltdl".
