Odd unity voicemail problem

Okay here is an odd one. We are running unity 4.2 and Call Manager 4.2.
We have one user who has a single line appearance on his phone and a
translation pattern (a common setup at our site). When a call goes to
voicemail after having come in over the translation pattern unity works
properly. The indicator light is illuminated and the voicemail appears
in his email box. Now if a call comes in to the same phone but the
extension directly (not the translation pattern extension) and goes to
voicemail there is no indicator light and while the voicemail shows up
in his email it cannot be listened to on his phone. Further if the
indicator light was on when the direct call came in and goes to
voicemail the indicator light will go off.

Any ideas?

This user probably has two voice mail boxes. His extension VBOX is
forwarded (no copy) to his TP one.

Rasim,

Thanks for the idea but when I look in unity, only the extension that
actually exists has a mailbox the translation pattern does not. Any
other ideas?

Re: Odd unity voicemail problem [In reply to]

I'd suggest verifying what extension is actually being presented to
Unity in both cases, using the call viewer tool. If they are coming in
as the two different extensions, then the second one HAS to be defined
somewhere in Unity, or that user would never get any message. Most
likely bet is is an alternate extension defined. If they do make it to
unity as the same extension, then it is likely something client side,
like an inbox rule.

Re: Odd unity voicemail problem [In reply to]

In both cases the extension (according to the call viewer) is 5505
(which is the actual extension). If I do **5505 it goes to voicemail,
if I do **6602 (The translation pattern) it goes just to unity generic
call handler (i.e. no box associated with that extension). I can't find
anything client side, I know that a mailbox rule that moves the message
will kill a notification but that is not happening.

Thanks,
Josh
