IMAP Unity Connection 2.X and cell phones

I have a situation with IMAP and Unity Connection. I am trying to use a cell
phone to connect to the voicemail server via IMAP. The cell phones can
connect to any IMAP mail server except Unity Connection. The firewall is
open and I am able to telent into port 143 and issue login and fetch
commands. As a different test I also put one of the IPhones on the inside of
the newtwork via WIFI. I was able to verify the IPHONE had inside address
and was able to access inside only websites to our network. I then settup
the IPHONE with the inside address of the unity connection IMAP (Incoming).
Still have the same result as if being outside the firewall. We are able to
make all pc and mac based clients connect just fine to IMAP inside or
outside the network but any mobile device we use (Smart Phone, IPHONE) fails
to connect....Any ideas?

You might be out of luck for the short term. There is a doc on CCO that
specifically outlines what clients have been tested and verified:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/compatibility/matrix/cucclientmtx.html

it dos not appear to have any mobile clients on it. Time to reach out to
your account team for the feature request.

If you're just trying to troubleshoot this yourself, you should consider
a packet capture. Wireshark can decode unencrypted IMAP handily. Compare
the session, commands run, etc, from a working client and your cell phone.
